Fencing~*

Okay, I know I'm busy like hell.
But I need to create this post, desperately. Lol.

I'm so officially learning fencing now!

Woo hoo~

Wait for a second.

I wouldn't be too 'optimistic' about that as I'm aching all over my body right now.

I went to the training gymnasium in the Sports Centre with Joo Enn. We planned to have a look at the fencing club's practice. According to our seniors, the fencing club is considered as an elite club in the university. They have won many prizes! [Yeah, I saw all their medals in the gallery] Ok, let me get on with it. We were right outside the training gymnasium and we saw people playing balls!? Don't get me wrong. They are members of the fencing club. We were a bit puzzled. It's kinda weird for us to barge in just like that. Lawrence who was supposed to get us in the club couldn't make it. So he asked us to see the captain of the fencing club who is also called Lawrence, in person. Fine. Eventually we asked one of the members for Lawrence. He came. Quite a nice guy, I would say. After much anticipation, we managed to watch their practice. The captain explained to us that they were playing balls as a warming up exercise. Later on, they started some stretching exercises followed by running+jogging. Those exercises that they did seemed to be very tiring to me. After that, they started to practise foot work in groups. The vice-captain, a french girl, Ali, came forth and offered to teach us some basic foot work. We agreed although we were in jeans, not trackbottom or any proper sports wear. It's quite interesting! Feet must be at 90 degrees... bend the knees.. step forward... keep the balance.. lurch... step backwards.. Okay. We were told that we could join them for a few sessions on Wednesday afternoons (2pm-4pm) and see how everything goes before actually paying their membership fees (20pounds). There would be a coach teaching on Wednesdays.

Today...

Sy Qiao, Joo Enn and I went fencing!! Haha...

Well, only a few people turned up. First, we played the ball game which was very fun. Something like netball. The captain was really good in it. There's also a tall guy who catches the ball very easily when we passed it to one another[cuz he's TALL]. >.< Then we did some stretching exercises, running, jogging, running sideways, sprinting, etc.. I was quite exhausted! Next, the coach taught us the foot work... It was damn confusing for the three of us. We're supposed to
step forward, backward, two steps forward, jump, lurch, skip, cross step..
After practising for quite a while, we were asked to equipped ourselves with the fencing masks, protectors, gloves and the FOIL!! A-haa! I never expected this as this was only our first fencing lesson! What to do next?! "Practise with a partner!" XD
Gosh. I sweated a lot. I mean A LOT.
It's really a very tiring experience for me. Tiring but satisfying~
Now I'm aching all over my body. I feel that age is catching up with me. Hahahaha... =P

As busy as ever

Phew.
As busy as ever.
Homework, assignments, lab reports, reading stuff...etc. are piling up.
I think I've never been so hardworking before like I am now.
Gosh.
Life is a total boredom.
Miss my friends back in my hometown.
Especially the times when we have our 'meetings' and 'fights' and 'plans'!! XD
Time passes very quickly.
I've left home for 2 months.
Getting on quite well here. (Thanks to all my classmates here who helped me a lot)
I've developed some sort of phobia towards basketball ever since I got hurt.
I planned to take up some golf lessons here as St Andrews is well-known as the 'home of golf'. (Just google it and you'll know =P) Alas, there's no more places left, so I gave up the idea.
Seriously, I think I need to grab any chance to learn something new.

-Squash?
-Boxing? [that's a no no for me *chuckles*]
-Fencing? [seems cool! =D]

I'll think about it.
Ciao~
Need to get on with my preparation for my seminar..

Shopping for PenGuinS?!!?

I went shopping at Tesco yesterday. And I found this penguin chocolate biscuit bars. It reminded me of Little Penguin, my friend. Lol. Haha..

I found this funny question at the back of the wrapper...^^

With the answer.. -_-
Hahaha...
[It tastes quite nice.. Should get 1 for Geok Cher before I go back to Msia. Luv it! ^.~]

~Snow~

It snowed!!!

On the way back to our residence hall...

Covered with snow!!

It's nice to have snow here.
But I don't really like it now cuz my jacket and stuff like that gets wet. And when there's wind, the snow will just get into the hair. >.<
Snow=Rain
But I hate the rain here.
Somehow, I would say that snow is still better than rain.

me+sports=injury

Lol. After arriving in St. Andrews, it was the first time that I had played any sports here. Well, all of us signed up for the membership for the sports centre which costs 23pounds. Okay, let me go on with my story...

All 8 of us went to play basketball at the sports centre. I must say that I ain't a sports person. And due to SPM last year, I was deprived of PE classes for a long period. So I thought it was the perfect timing for me to do some sports while I'm here. Lol.

Basketball was kinda fun. But I must say that it was a rough game as girls and boys are playing it together. Gosh, in all of a sudden, I was hit by the ball right in my face. I wasn't dreaming, was I? No, it was kinda painful on my nose. And my glasses was a little dented. I didn't realise that there was a slight cut under my eye and it was bleeding. My friend Joo Enn got hit by the ball twice too. Thank god she didn't get any cuts or stuff like that. Okay, I tried to keep my cool. When I got back to my room, I found out that I didn't have any antiseptic cream to apply! I have nothing of these sorts for injuries. So I phoned my dad, and he asked me to go get some salt water to clean the wound. Okay, quickly, I went to the kitchen and got some salt. It was kinda painful, I would say.

I'm quite calm all the time. But I don't know why suddenly I was almost in tears when my mum talked to me. I would hate to get a scar on my face, obviously. I was so damn sad that I couldn't concentrate well during my Physiology class. T_T

Okay, fine. Dad asked me to go to the pharmacy to get 'Fucidic acid cream'. But to no avail, I can't get it without a GP's prescription!! I managed to make an appointment with my GP the next day. I had to skip class to go to the health centre which is damn far away from my residence hall. I walked for 25mins. Thank god I manage to find my way there! Phew. The doctor told me that it will heal but it might take some time. I felt a sense of relief!

Now, it's completely healed. Haha~~
XD

Since then, I think I have some sort of phobia towards the ball. Lolx..
But I've decided to go to the gym weekly because I definitely need to burn off some fats due to the consumption of calorie-laden food that the cafetaria serves.
